What is Obsidian?
Obsidian is naturally occurring volcanic glass. Obsidian is produced as lava from a volcano rapidly cools.
Obsidian was highly valued by previous cultures because it could be fractured like flint to produce arrowheads and sharp blades.
Obsidian was also polished to create early mirrors and used to craft some surgery tools like the scalpel. Obsidian is beautifully used for ornamental purpose and as a gemstone.
